2008 Garric Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon

We are proud and excited to announce the release of our 2008 Garric Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon! This is our sixth vintage, and it couldn't have come in a better year. The 2008 vintage was also stellar in the Napa Valley!

Robert M Parker Jr calls the 2008 vintage brilliant: "This is a dense, low-yielding, complete vintage for Cabernet Sauvignon". We could not agree more, as we believe 2008 Garric is as compelling as the 2007, and in fact may turn out to be superior!

2008 marks the debut of fruit sourced from Beckstoffer's Missouri Hopper vineyard in Oakville. Combined with fruit from the historic Larkmead vineyard in Calistoga, Winemaker Pam Starr crafted a classic Garric Cabernet. We believe the combination of fruit from these two great vineyards produce a distinctive wine.

Tasting Notes

"Wow. Deep ruby/purple. A rich fruit filled, creamy nose. Dominant notes of crushed red and black fruit. Beautifully fragrant black cherry, black currant, clove, roasted coffee, vanilla bean and coconut aromas are focused and complex. Full bodied, vibrant and voluptuous with velvety black fruit that coats the mouth. Some young tannins, but this is approachable now"
... Gary & Ricardo

Low yields and strict selection kept our production low in 2008. Only 445 cases of 750ml bottles and 180 Magnums were produced.
